..he stretched forth his hand from the altar, saying: "Lay hold on him". And his hand, which he stretched forth against him (his opponent) withered: and he was not able to draw it back to him.

Bibliomancy. It is the act of opening a Bible at random and reading the first words your eyes fall on for the sake of divine messaging -or other words, divination.

As a Mexican indigenous child once within a multi generational household, the practice was treated as a therapeutic reassurance of God's omniscience. Now as an adult, one who may be labeled a new wave Bruja, I still revere the practice with utmost sincerity.

Today, I opened my Santa Biblia to ask what message is there for me in this moment of obscured conflict? The conflict being a diversive turmoil of perspective within my own Alaskan spiritual community. Turmoil within any community is to be expected, however, the turmoil is not suppose to become threatening. Perspectives should be allowed to exist within conflict toward each other without containing false accusations of violence.

A false accusation of violence can be perceived as an attempt to illicit violence in response toward the claimed perpetrator.

To remain in line with that understanding, a similar accusation of black magic within spiritual communities can also be interpreted to defining a degree of intended violence toward a subject, or at minimum, to illicit their social condemnation.

Now to shift slightly. Let me ask you to define what black magic is through your cultural lens.

Could I possibly respond by telling you that your cultural ignorance of my inherited practice should not be able to Puritanically define me as evil?

Stop there, as you consider, and let's shift once more.

Within my spiritual practice, it is believed that no one person is alone on this earthly plane. Every soul equipped with a body is also equipped with a team of ancestors, guides and energetic guardians. In my belief, a person does not simply send "black magic" to an unsuspecting person -but they also inflict it upon that person's spiritual team. Much like in the court of law that we have here, there is a court of law beyond us. But unfortunately, for the ill intended practitioner, this otherworldly court is more organic than ours. This court can be righteous or this court could be ill and angry of itself and therefore ready to inflict pain as a response to energetic intrusions.

In alignment with this spiritual belief, I do not find myself desiring spiritual warefare without deeply justifiable cause.

Please, I would ask you also to be as mindful.

Thank you.

And his hand, which he stretched forth against him (his opponent) withered: and he was not able to draw it back against him.
